Sound Stage: Makeup and Vanity Set

Nashville progressive synthwave for getting you into the flow.

Even if Synthwave and Electronic music isn’t your thing I urge you to give the Album 88:88 by artist Makeup And Vanity Set a try. I like just about every type of music but what really gets me high is finding an album, no matter the genre, where there is a seamless transition from track to track that never breaks the spell where the music enhances whatever you’re currently doing. Many times for me it’s one boring spreadsheet after the next. With this album, in particular the first 5 songs in sequence, I find time slips away and I’m at a higher tier of focus from the music.

Much of Makeup And Vanity Set’s music veers away from the sounds of 88:88, which to me, makes me feel like I’m in a Blade Runner 2049 (solid film regardless of accurate commentary on Ryan Gosling's face).

Best Time to Listen

While fucking around with a pivot table in order to rank and score the best episodes of Community. Even if the rest of their music isn’t your thing I’d wager this album makes an appearance in your playlist for hitting the gym, scrubbing up some dishes or, like me, smacking those Excel tables around.
